Smokedog have their HHBTM debut cassette "Rogue Warrior" coming out this Friday. Yes, I did just say cassette. I have been wanting to do one for ages now, and Smokedog are just gritty enough and have that right kind of fuzz that sounds great on a cassette. The cassette is limited to 100 copies, and the last 25 copies were dubbed from the tape before in order so that the final 25 tapes gained a generation adding even more fuzz and distortion. If you are in Athens, GA this weekend you should come out to the Caledonia Lounge on Friday July 17th to pick one up and see Smokedog live along with the Mystery of Two, Marshmallow Coast, and the Titans of Filth. If you can't make the show, the cassette will be available through the HHBTM website later this week for $5.00.

Smittens WEEK comes to an end

This is the last post that wraps up Smittens week at the HHBTM blog. It's been fun adding these videos to the blog this last week, and has even made me give the recent Smittens record "the Coolest Thing About Love..." some extra spins. That record is such a huge leap for them compared to their first two albums. This band won me over big time during that first Athens PopFest in 2004. I still can't believe sometimes they joined the HHBTM family and how far they have come as songwriters and as a band. It made me so proud this year to have them get asked to not only play the NYC PopFest & San Francisco PopFest, but they also were asked back to Indietracks. I can't wait to hear what they do next. Here's a video of them doing " Half My Heart Beats" at last years New England PopFest.

Post 3 of 5 in what we here at the HHBTM HQ are calling SMITTENS WEEK. If you didn't already know the Smittens are about to go back over to the UK to rule over the Indietracks festival. (well co-rule along with Eux Autres & the Lovely Eggs...go HHBTM Family) Here's a little sample of what you might have missed last year. Eventhough they already played Colin & Dana brought it to the fans on the train platform between bands and even roped Max in on an acoustic version of "Gumdrops".

Smittens "100 Roses"

This week is Smittens week at the ol' HHBTM blog. Those cute lovable bubble twee poppers the Smittens are hitting the road this month overseas with their second UK tour and their first tour of Sweden. Modern Silence

It's a slight bit late, but getting these files to work so I could post the photo has been a bit tricky. (I'm not the best at getting files to work, and trouble shooting web problems) The new Casper & the Cookies album Modern Silence hit stores on Tuesday and is now available via the band and the HHBTM website. The record has been getting some press, and starting to chart on college radio, so please call your local college radio station and request some Cookies already. We have the the regular CD for $10.00 or the special edition version which comes with a printed fabric banner of the design above and 3 more banners featuring the tape ninjas on the record sleeve and a button for $13.00. The Cookies will also be hitting the road this summer to support Modern Silence.
